On the Ground in Wisconsin

Primaries

Barrack Obama won the democratic primary by a wide margin, 58%-41%,
in Wisconsin
but that does not tell the whole story.  It was worse than you think.
I notice that there is a lack of reporting on the crossover effect. In Wisconsin you
get a ballot that allows you to vote for 1 candidatie in EITHER party. For many
of us conservatives in Wisconsin the choice was to vote for Huckabee or Ron
Paul as a protest vote OR vote for Hillary to slow down the Obama train. Many
conservatives chose the defensive position and voted for Hillary. That is proven
by the large number of democratic voters, just over 1,100,000, as opposed to
republican voters, just over 410,000.
Wisconsin is about 50-50 Republican/Democrat. (I realize that Barrack Obama
drew out a lot of 1st time voters, but that is only part of the story.)

Vice Prez

It was reported in the media that congressman Paul Ryan is on John McCain's
short list as his Vice Presidental candidate. Paul Ryan is the Wisconsin 1st
district congressman, a solid conservative. (He is my congressman) In the
strange political landscape of Wisconsin politics, the congessman in the
ajoining district is the leftist Tammy Baldwin.

Anchors Away

The United States Navy hit the bullseye in bringing down the wayward satellite
last evening, February 20th.  Way to go guys! Congrats.

Primary Thoughts

Down Ticket

When fellow conservatives say they will sit out the election

if John McCain is nominated I worry. There is more to it

than the presidency. There are still conservatives running

in congressional and senate races. The seemingly inevitable

liberal agenda can be slowed at the legislative level. Think 1994.

There are important state and local races too. The presidency

does not the conservative movement make.

Presidential Primer

I’m aware of the current arguments regarding the presidential race.

One school of thought is that if McCain sides with liberal legislation the

Republicans in congress will go along rather than fight back.  Are

they talking about the republicans that are either a RINO or spineless?

Up to now they have shown that hiding under the desk is the order of

the day. (If we are holding McCain to his past actions how about these

ineffective so called conservatives in congress?)

A little farther out is the thought that if a liberal agenda screws

up the economy or the war on terror it would be better if a democrat

was to blame.  If we have learned nothing we must know that the

republicans will always be blamed. “It was the policies of the

Bush administration that led to this (insert disaster here)”

The Choice

John McCain is NOT a conservative. John McCain is not my

ideal or even my 11th choice.  On the domestic front he is the

worst choice. However, he will get 2 things right, and they are the big 2.

The war against Islamafacism and judges. (there may be some kicking

and screaming on the judge’s issue). Neither democrat will get either

right.  Bottom line. Gotta vote for John McCain if that is the final choice.

Revolting

There is a theory out on the Townhall threads that if either Hillary or

Barrack is elected then the socialism they impose will bring on a

revolt by the public.  Do they know the same sheeple that I do? It

would take a monumental shift in societal structure to pull most

Americans out of their comfort zone and pay attention, much less revolt.

Voices of Conservatism

Why are so many republicans playing by marques de queensbury rules

when the democrats are street fighting?  It is time for the issues and values

of conservatism to be articulated, debated, and defended for what they

are. What is with this lefty imposed political correctness? It’s time to

catapult our message over the noise.  Notice that the ones who do this

are the most popular amongst conservatives. (even better, hated by lefties)

I am speaking of  Ann CoulterLaura Ingraham, and Michael Savage.

(also a plug here for GunnyG, a Townhall blogger who also speaks bluntly)

Solid Entertainment

On Bill O’Reilly February 13 Dennis Miller said.

‘…Hillary’s been cheated on more than a blind woman

playing scrabble with gypsies.”

I got a chuckle at that, but as an extra bonus, I got to

enjoy the joke again. The next morning I was listening

to the Stephanie Miller Show(syndicated by Jones Network)

and the joke came up in the ‘Right Wing World’ segment.

The shtick is that Stephanie and the mooks (2 guys) talk

about the news of the day in a very snarky and from a totally

left wing perspective.  Being without talent, they come off as

articulate 9 year olds. Anyway, the joke came up in ‘Right Wing

World’ and the three of them didn’t get the joke. They floundered

and grasped at analogies but to no avail. It was a great display

by the humor impaired (oops, is that a recognized disability?

Am I in trouble with the PC police? Quick, under the desk!)
