Fairness, Gas, and Beer

Fairness
Just heard on the Laura Ingraham show discussing
the fairness doctrine. A congressman
(I didn't catch his name) stated that PBS anbd NBC
are not 'left' leaning, There in lies the crux of the
problem with the fairness doctrine. Who decides?
The groundwork is being layed. Have you noticed
the increase in news about mis-behaving radio
personalities? What do you think the whole Don
Imus excercise was about?

Fair to Anybody"  (click on the link under

Gas
There is a bill before congress regarding gas
mileage rules for cars and trucks. Previous
incarnations of this type of legislation led to
unintended consequences. The CAFE laws passed
under the Carter administration led to midsize
sports cars being powered by 2.5 liter 4 cylinder
engines. (Chevrolet Celebrity Euro Sport). The
consumer rejected these underpowered cars and
turned to trucks.  The market move to trucks led to the
development of the SUV.  To this day trucks dominate
the market.  This new legislation is harshest on, you
guessed it, trucks.

Mark Twain once observed, "I wonder what the 10
commandments would look like if they ran them through
congress."

Beer
Several years ago the democrats wanted a bill that
would require a  warning label on beer that cautioned
impairment and not to drink while pregnant. The
republicans resisted, but the democrats pushed the
issue.  In the end there was a compromise. The
Republicans added language that required the beer
label to contain alcohol content if it was not the standard
3.2% alcohol by volume (6.4 proof). The bill was
signed into law. The brewers tried various alcohol
contents and settled on 5%. Read a Bud label,
it's there!  This also led to the micro brewery industry.
Previous to this legislation, the small brewers did not
have the equipment or expertise to control alcohol
content in large batches.

Lefty’s on my Right Moonbats on my Left

The lefties are so much fun with their moral
equivalency arguments
.

It is incorrect to call illegal immigrants ‘illegal immigrants’
because all they did was break a law and have not
been ‘caught’. If you or I have ever broken a law and
not gotten caught, then we are illegal too. For instance,
if you drove faster than the posted limit, or have driven
while intoxicated then you are ‘illegal’ because you broke
a law. So how is it fair to call immigrants illegal
and not call law breaking citizens illegal?

Gotta love that moral equivalency.
In recent days the news has been about Ronald
Reagan’s speech in Germany 20 years ago that
resulted in tearing down the Berlin wall. So what
could be the moral equivalency here? Are you ready?
Like kindergarten children, the lefties see that a wall is
a wall, so to be in favor of removing the Berlin wall you
must be against the wall on our southern border.
Never mind that the United States wall is to
KEEP PEOPLE OUT and the Berlin wall
was to KEEP PEOPLE IN.

Communists
Over the years many have accused conservatives of
being paranoid about encroaching
socialism/communism. The common practice is
to invoke ‘McCarthyism’ to impart witch hunt status
on any one that suspects communist activity.
Not only has Senator McCarthy and his Committee
on Un-American Activities been proven correct,
but Communist activity was indeed taking place way
back to the 1930’s. Connect to link below for more.

Those crazy Dems
Ron Paul is the leftist choice for the Republican
nomination. In the Republican debate where the
winner was determined by phoned in votes, the
liberals  piled in for Ron Paul. For days afterward
the hosts on the ‘re-launched’ Air America used the
result to ‘prove’ that the republicans are actually moving
to their way of thinking. The leftist trolls that post to the
threads on Townhall have discovered that true
conservatives do not like ‘Rockefeller Republicans’
so they now hang that moniker on all of the
Republican candidates..

Diversity BAD Assimilation GOOD
Recently George Bush said “Diversity is good”.
What has happened to George?
Diversity is NOT GOOD. It is part of the divide
and conquers strategy of the Democrats.
